2021 Word–Revive!

“Won’t You revive us again, so Your people can rejoice in You?”

Psalm 85:6

2020 was a doozy of a year, wasn’t it? Pretty much no one saw it coming, but last year did provide the 20/20 vision we all needed. We just didn’t know that what was hidden until last year was so unpleasant. I’m thankful to have my eyes opened now though. Aren’t you?

Moving into this beautiful new year, we may be uncertain what direction life will go in–and my belief is we may see an even more chaotic year than last. My hope isn’t in this being a perfect year though. It’s in God restoring what we realized was broken last year.

As I prayed a few days ago for a ‘word’ for 2021, (before I could even complete my prayer!) the word REVIVE popped up in my heart. Over & over again it seemed to repeat itself. I was a little surprised! 🙂

Revive means to bring back to life or consciousness; resuscitate. To give new health, strength, or spirit to. To become active or flourishing again.

Revive sounds like just what is needed for this new year, after 2020’s heartbreaks and disappointments. I pray the Lord revives what was lost last year and makes it better than before! Specifically, I’m praying the Lord breathe new life into these things:

  • Children
  • Finding our calling and moving towards it
  • Family
  • Health
  • Freedoms

Lord, may You do a work in each of these areas that is more beautiful and glorious than I could ever ask for or imagine! In Jesus’ name, amen.

“The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul”

Psalm 19
