“Arise, shine; for your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
and deep darkness the people;
but the Lord will arise over you,
and His glory will be seen upon you.”

I read this spiritual promise today — the same passage I was given about 12 years ago for my 23rd birthday — & it reminded me of that word.

The word “Arise” means more to me this year than ever because it’s my 2018 word. No longer does the Lord want me to sit on the sidelines & struggle. He wants me to arise & be part of what He’s doing!

This year, I’ve noticed that when “Arise” is used in the Bible, it’s often speaking of GOD arising on our behalf (not us arising, as I’d previously thought)!

The first half of 2018, I thought He’d given me the word “Arise” as a command! Little did I know that it was not just a motivational word for me — it was a promise of what He was going to do for me. Whoa, awesome!

I’ve been seeing Him do that lately — & He’s been reminding me, lest I forget, that it’s His battle, not mine.

Here are a few scriptures on God arising (& many more here!):

“Arise, O LORD!
Save me, O my God!
For You strike all my enemies on the cheek;
You break the teeth of the wicked.”

~Psalm 3

“Because of the devastation of the afflicted,
because of the groaning of the needy,
Now I will arise,” says the LORD;
“I will set him in the safety for which he longs.”

~Psalm 12

“God shall arise, His enemies shall be scattered;
and those who hate Him shall flee before Him!”

~Psalm 68

Have you seen God your Father arise on your behalf?

Is He calling you to arise from your struggles & place of depair, like me, to a higher place — another level?

Is He encouraging you that He’s going to arise on your behalf & do something for you that you couldn’t do for yourself… what NO man can hinder?

I wonder if just maybe He is 🙂
