My Beloved [Kari Jobe]

I just heard the most beautiful song. Are you ready for this?

First though, I must share something with you!  Lately God’s been speaking to me in an unusual way.  These thoughts have never fully penetrated my mind before… that I’m His bride.  As in marriage.  And permanence.

That’s why He gets so jealous when we betray Him.

He’s not content with our heart pieces — He wants all of us!  It’s not a possessive love… but as any person who’s been in love knows, true love doesn’t rest til it has all of you.  Not when you’re 90% loyal and entertaining other lovers the rest of the time.  True love demands 100%.  Not because He wants to own you but because He knows the damage other lovers can do.  No other lover but Him has your best interest at heart.  He’s jealous for your heart because He wants you to be free… yet if something else captures your heart, your liberty unravels.  Your heart becomes enslaved.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.  -Prov 4:23

True love isn’t like ex-boyfriends who leave when it’s not fun anymore, when you’re going through rough stuff.  True love doesn’t stop pursuing you when it’s listening ears are tired.  True love’s always ready to hear.

What!!!!

So God, You’re trying to tell me You always wanna hear what’s on my heart (though You know it already)?  WOW can you talk about patience?!  He sits and listens to us drone on about… the same things… and delights to hear it!

Most people reach a point where enough’s enough.  They don’t care anymore.  But not God.  Psalm 62:8 says:

Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge.

He’s making this real to me right now.  And I love it.  Now check out this song — and hear His heart for us in it 🙂
