Our Dream is Coming True!

Fave Behr

It’s not every day your dreams come true. Though the past year has been tough on our little family, today we wanna share our big news:

We’re Pregnant!!!!!!

We’ve anticipated this day since our 1st Valentine’s Day together as man & wife — less than 2 months after our wedding day — when Brian gave me a baby name book as a gift {yes really! And I thought it was sooo romantic haha}. But sincerely, most of our lives. Even as a child I had this desire in my heart. Brian says the same.

It’s strange to wake up one day and realize… Our dreams are coming true. August 31st we rested our heads on our pillows not knowing what the next day would hold, and by 7 AM the next morning, we discovered we were new parents!!

We’re now 12 1/2 weeks into this wonderful adventure and can’t imagine the journey we are just beginning on this year.

A New Song

In spite of the heartbreak we’ve experienced and our heavy heart for those around us who are trying to conceive, we’re starting to celebrate this little person in my belly. It’s still surreal that it’s happening to us. How truly incredible that God is knitting them together in my womb right now. Wow.

In this new “suddenly” season, a powerful worship song came to mind — one I’ve sang in the midst of our “What the heck is God doing” years. A few days ago I sang it with tears streaming down my face, thinking to myself —

This is real. This is really happening, Lord. Thank You so so much — even when we don’t understand what You’re doing. Thank You.

This song means so much to me, even moreso now. Thank You, God, for Your faithfulness — especially when we can’t see what You’re doing or when we think You don’t love us and are withholding from us. Those are our times when our faith is proven true, and when we pass the test, we come out as pure gold.

Your love is devoted
like a ring of solid gold
Like a vow that is tested
like a covenant of old

Your love is enduring
through the winter rain
And beyond the horizon
with mercy for today

Faithful You have been
and faithful You will be
You pledge Yourself to me
and it’s why I sing

Your praise will ever be on my lips,
ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips,
ever be on my lips

You Father the orphan
Your kindness makes us whole
You shoulder our weakness
And Your strength becomes our own

You’re making me like You
Clothing me in white
Bringing beauty from ashes
For You will have Your bride

Free of all her guilt
and rid of all her shame
And known by her true name
and it’s why I sing

Your praise will ever be on my lips,
ever be on my lips
Your praise will ever be on my lips,
ever be on my lips

You will be praised, You will be praised
With angels and saints we sing worthy are You Lord
You will be praised, You will be praised
With angels and saints we sing worthy are You Lord

Luke 1.45

We ordered this print to hang in our baby’s nursery after my friend Tawni gave us this scripture!
